winner: retail interior design awards - 15 Apr 2008

We are proud to announce that Herbert + Mason & Ksubi won the  Interior Design Retail Interior award for the Ksubi shop in Armadale.

Thanks to Ksubi and everyone on the team for delivering the successful project.

Here's what the jury said:

"This project heralds a much needed and clever shift in retail design in Australia, in terms of both interior spatial resolution and brand reinforcement. The jury acknowledged that if retail design is about being ahead of the pack, then this project is exemplary. The ingeniously designed progression of spaces through the store is experimental, humorous, explanatory and sophisticated, resulting in a unique and adventurous retail experience that references the edgy aspects of popular and visual culture"

what are we doing . . . - 07 Jan 2008

Our work has been published as one of the top 10 interior designs of the world (as seen in monument magazine) for the Ksubi flagship store as well as Herbert & Mason being invited to take their designs public through several presentations, talks and open discussion and seminars.

Since the opening of Ksubi in 2006 / 2007 we have seen the beginning and completion of many exciting projects including the flagship store of Claude Maus and Provider Trainers, a retailing concept/ stratgey for Globe, many of our wonderful residential projects, and our contribution to the winning St Kilda Triangle scheme project for an invited tenant. We also been invited to be one of design Firms for high end retail design in the Westfield Retail Property Group.

This year has already started as a great success with projects that will start construction including EJ House Hawthorn, Laver St Kew, NA House Black rock and the AP House Mt Martha, and other new projects (to just name a few that we can), that will include a 1st floor resteraunt and bar design for Teague Ezard, as well many other bars, pubs and restaurants around town.  On a the larger scale of things we will taking on an Urban Renewal project, in conjunction with the street Traders and Bourke Hill precinct committee.

We will see many new clients coming to us for the first time as well as the return of many of our clients, which we would like to take this time to thank as you as you have all have brought exciting projects, ideas, consultants and team members to the Herbert & Mason table, which is proving to allow us all to be a success. As a result of all this you will see new faces amongst the Herbert & Mason team as we start the year by taking on several new staff which we look forward to introducing to you in the New Year.

further to come, we will be providing an immediate contact base between us and our clients. Our website will have dedicated project directories that will contain all the relevant project information and project status, as well as current documents including drawings, schedules and specification for that project alone. Enabling greater flexibility and communication for each given project.
